My Hair (or aka. How I Get Bored Easily and Decide to Change It)

(me with my jet black hair. And yes it was an 80s party hence the crimping...)

Ok. Pre-warning in advance: this is possibly a blog rant about my hair.

For anyone who knows me well, then this is of no surprise to you but to those of you that don't I happen to like changing my hair. I know, who doesn't right? Since I got my very first set of blonde highlights when I was 14 (eek), my hair has never been quite the same. It has been highlighted blonde, pillabox red at 16, then turned dark at 17, then brown, then back to red, then ginger (red is a bugger to manage), then black cherry, then dark brown and finally black. This is when things went wrong....

I happened to use the Nice n'Easy Colour Mousse in Natural Black supidly thinking that because the hair dye was in mousse form that somehow it would not be permanent. How wrong was I.... Firstly, can I just say the application was terrible! It went everywhere!! Will not buy again. But anyways yes, I did like the dramatic colour for quite a few weeks despite the Goth comparisons, but hey, I liked being a raven head :)

That was in January. And it got to about February/March when I decided it was maybe TOO dark for me. I am quite pale (no stranger to being albino white in winter) so, it can wash me out if I dont wear any blush or bronzer and plus, straight black hair has no warmth or definition to it - it can look like you're wearing a Morticia Adams wig. Sad times.

Since then it has been a struggle to get rid of the black. Again, being naive, I thought black hair colour would fade when actually it's the hardest shade to get rid of. Did not know this. Red hair was a doddle compared to black!! To this day I chastise myself for not Googling black hair dye, but again, the impatience and that overwheling urge of "oh-my-god lets dye my hair here's a new colour!..." kicked in.... So I stupidly tried to put a brown dye over my black hair and what did it do? Sod all. Because nothing shifts black apart from killing it. So, that what I decided to do...

So I bought this baby from Superdrug. This is Scott Cornwall's Colour B4 (Extra Strenght) especially to help those who have been foolish like myself to remove dark hair colours. It cost like £11.99 and promises to shrink artificial hair colour molecules so you can wash them out. In the words of Alexander the Meercat, Simples?

Well in theory it's simple. I had been lingering over buying it for weeks but I was scared something would go wrong and my hair might fall out or whatever but in the end, I just did it. And so the avid journalist in me decided to document the whole process in hope of telling you lovely bloggers....

So you mix two solutions together and apply all over the hair like hair dye. You can wait either 30 to 50 minutes for the solution to do it's magic and I went for the longest time possible in order to shift the black. Biggest turn off of this product? The smell. It was vile! I felt sick having it in my hair - I can't even describe it, some have said it's like rotten egg but I think its worse! Anyway, as they say no pain, no gain so I put up with the aroma. To help speed up the process, I sat with a Boots plastic bag over my hair whilst surfing the net. God knows what anyone must have thought if they walked past my window that day!!....

Time was up, so I decided to look in the mirror and assess the damage...

Yes, it could be mistaken for seaweed. But already I could see a HUGE difference! It was brown! Not jet black! Considering my hair must have had build-up of colour too, this was great that it shifted so much colour. I was pleased and thought "hey I don't even need a dye to put over it'' until I saw my roots....

My roots were the colour of Sugar Puffs... It was honey coloured! I was baffled. I didn't know whether the solution had made my natural roots turn that way, but I hardly had any root growth. Odd.

Anyway, I put the Buffer shampoo on afterwards which took forever! You have to rinse so much, I swear the amount of water that dripped from my hair onto my bathroom floor made it look like an enclosure at Seaworld... A top tip is to time with a phone alarm how long you rinse in the shower as 2 minutes felt like 10.... I was expecting my hair to be like straw and granted yes,  it did dry it out a bit, but not half as bad as I was expecting!

Now I know my lighting isn't great, but wow. I had warm tones in my hair again! From jet black nothing to a warm brown. I think because I dyed my hair red for so long obviously there were still red molecules in my hair which were brought out again due to the stripper maybe? I dunno. I was kinda hoping the stripper would lighten it more but to be honest, I was just glad to be rid of the black!

My roots calmed down a hell of a lot, but they were still a lot lighter than the rest of my hair. I did end up putting a semi-permanent L'oreal Castings dye in 'Chocolate Brownie' on to cover up the un-eveness. But overall, yay! It's not like a massive change, but I'm just grateful that my hair is a few shades lighter!

But my hair change is not over, oh no... I'm still undecided on what colour to go, but at least now I have a fairly decent canvas to start on. Plus I am venturing into Toni+Guy tomorrow to get a new haircut - yay! So I will be posting pictures of my hair with my new haircut (that's if something doesn't horribly go wrong or I hate it or something!)

Anyhoo, this was just my little experiment on correcting hair colour. I will start blogging more now that I'm getting more spare time. Feel free to subscribe or comment if you like what you read!

Hauling and Birthday Planning!

Today I went into the Bullring in hopes of finding a nice birthday dress for my party this Saturday. With all the summer sales in full force (which I thought was early for summer sales!) I decided to venture into H+M.  I have always loved their clothing, however, of the past few months I haven't really bought anything much clothes-wise from there as nothing has really caught my eye or made me instantly want to buy anything. But today I went in the hopes of finding a nice dress that won't exactly break my budget until pay day. I was going  to go into my staple Primark in search of a dress, but I thought I'd just see if there was anything that I liked and to my surprise I came out a very happy girl.....

......With two dresses!

As soon as I saw this dress I just fell in love with the coral colour. It says 'Summer' in a colour to me! The material gives it that chiffon feel and on me (I'm 5ft 10) the hemline sits just above my knee. The dress also have a plunging V-shaped neckline which I have to say I normally shy away from (as for the rule of 'cleavage vs legs' in dresses, I usually stick to legs), but it's not indecent and looks quite flattering, so you could add a statement necklace to it. The colour would also pop against a nice (in my case faux) tan. I cannot wait to wear this to my party - I shall have to take an OOTN picture and post it on here with my make-up and hair done too - I would just take a shot wearing it now, but two reasons A.) I look like a scruff  B.) It wouldn't do it justice without all the trimmings! Oh and it was £7 down from £29.99....

I know what you're thinking.... It's the same dress in a different colour, right?! Wrong. Well sort of wrong... I showed my mum and she thought it was the same dress too...Yes it does have the same neckline as the coral dress, but it has spaghetti straps instead of the thicker fabric straps and also doesn't have tiered ruffles. The colour is a lovely dove grey and as I was contemplating which dress to buy, I thought "just get both...". Whilst the coral dress is more of a summer wear, this grey version is more versatile and can be worn in the autumn/winter too. The dress was also £7 down from £29.99 so £14 for two fabulous dresses?! What girl on a budget could say no?!

So there you go... Not a huge array of stuff but I hope it has been (slightly) informative and hopefully I can haul my lovely birthday gifts after the weekend :)

A Beautiful Evening Dress at DressWe

This is not the first time I buy product from DressWe, but I think this is the best shopping experience I get. About two weeks later I bought a dress for my mama from DressWe. It is an evening dress. Because my mama will go to attend a very important party, so I choose the custom-made dress. Because my mama is not very tall and a bit fat, I want her to be beautiful to go out.
After about one week I received the dress, I was so surprised, the quality is good and the color is really beautiful. It is a dark evening dress. I gave it to my mama, she also likes it very much. However, the dress is a bit longer. So I have to take it to the tailor. Anyway, it is much better than short. Now my mother is going to attend the party, hope everything will be OK. Good luck mom. I love you.

Daisy 'Eau So Fresh' by Marc Jacobs

When 'Daisy' first hit the shelves, I remember trying it in a department store and ended up spraying up my nose... Such a fail lol.... but even then I thought "wow...that is strong!". I'm all for sweet perfumes, but I never really fell for the first Daisy because I thought it was just a little toooverpowering for my liking, which was a shame cause I really wanted to like it. Then when 'Daisy Eau So Fresh' was released, I found it so much more appealing! You can still tell it's a 'Daisy' perfume, but it is lighter, vibrant and less potent. It is a very summery scent and does last all day, I don't feel like I have to touch it up as much as other perfumes. It contains notes of wild rose, apple blossom, violet, raspberry, grapefruit and cedarwood. It reminds me soo much of 'Parma Violet' sweets lol I dunno whether they sell Parma Violet sweets in other than the UK, but they're so yummy.... And the bottle above is the 75ml one, so again, I shouldn't be running out of it anytime soon!

And if you hadn't guessed already, this is the NARS cult 'Orgasm' blush! I actually squealed when I opened this, I have always wanted to own this blush. Anyone who's a beauty fanatic either owns it or has seen it being talked about/written about etc.. It's such a fresh pink and the good thing about it is that it can be built up to add more colour - it's not one of those blushes where one brush stroke can make you look slapped in the cheek... It leaves a nice shimmery highlight on cheekbones too which I think looks so pretty when caught in the light. Considering I don't really own/afford much high end products, this is such a nice thing to have in my collection :)

I also received a 'MAC' lipstick in the colour 'St. Germain' - which is a very lilac-toned pink. I think this was part of their 'Sugarsweet' collection they had a while back. Being slightly bias towards good ol' pink, I rather like it :) This is my first proper MAC 'Amplified Creme Lipstick' (I so far have 1 Frost and 1 Glaze Lipstick) so I need to test it out and see how it lasts and how it works on me etc, but I think this could work on me :) It's very Nick Minaj (I can never pronounce her surname right...)

This is probably one of my favourite presents. My little 6 year old sister knows I'm a bit of a beauty products freak, so she went out and decided to choose what she wanted to get me herself and so she got me a little make up goodie bag :) Gotta admit the girl has taste in colours.... Well mostly blue anyway :) I also forgot to add it in the picture but she also got me a little Revlon Lipgloss to go with my Rimmel Glam'Eyes Eyeshadow and Rimmel Nail colour. I think she's trying to hint I need some more 'blue' in my collection, but just look at the make-up bag!! I love the pattern and colours so much...

And lastly, some Guylian chocolate.... Mmm.... Cos well, Chocolate is probably a close second after my love of all things beauty. It'd be a crime not to like it....

Anyway, I thought I'd just post some of my lovely gems of birthday presents :) hope you're all well and I shall speak to you soon! xxx

DressWe Hoodie From My Sister

One year ago I bought a Dresswe hoodie. The color is black, my sister liked black so I gave the hoodie to her. So the story begin. (Oh god!)
My sister was in the same university with me. She was one year younger than me. Everyday we had lunch, dinner and even breakfast together, She is more than my friend. If I had a new piece of clothes, I will share it with her, if she liked it, I will even gave her. That was the reason I gave her my DressWe hoodie.
It was in Autumn, one week later the weather was a bit cold, all my clothes had been washed, I remember I had a black hoodie, so I went to her dormitory to ask for the hoodie. When I opened the door, she is laughing with her  roommates. “Juliet, give me the hoodie I am cold!” I said casually. She was a bit awkward, “Don’t you have any other outwear?” “I gave all of them to you! Be quick I am cold!” Then she turned to her roommate slowly and said, “Sorry dear, the hoodie.” I was shocked when her roommate opened her wardrobe, there were so many clothes I used to give to my sister including the Dresswe hoodie! How can she do that and never mentioned?
I said I didn’t need it anymore and went out. But how can she treat me like this?
At night my sister send me a message to ask me out to have a cup of coffee. Then she said her roommate’s family is not very good, especially in winter, because they opened a small barbecue store. She had three sisters and they all need a large of money at school. So even the weather became cold, she didn’t bought herself a hoodie.
I understood my kind sister and after I went back. I gave the DressWe hoodie to her roommate myself.

I Wore A well used Bridesmaid Dress To operate

I've only been recently a bridesmaid as soon as in my life. Luckily, the dress wasn't bad: a lilac cocktail-length number creating a light tulle underlay, it was fairly. To be honest, it was more advanced than what I had my own poor bridesmaids use at my wedding: crimson column dresses inside of satin that were less-than-flattering obviously, at the time I thought these folks were beautiful.
When we started talking about the circumstances of these once-worn dresses only at Fashion, we chose to challenge ourselves and also learn how to give these high-priced frocks a second life. Similar to wedding gowns, outfit's are usually pricey we have spent.
A-line V-neck Chapel Train Satin Wedding Dress with Crystal
Regrettably, these clothes frequently suffer the identical fate as a bridal gown: they're worn as soon as after which discarded. Very clever people have commenced plans where these barely-worn frocks can be donated to girls who need them. However, if you haven't gotten about to be able to donating the costume and have a good inkling regarding hope that maybe, simply maybe, you may wear it again We swore to our bridesmaids the clothes I had selected were versatile, however I have no idea of on what earth lilac satin floor-length gowns may be versatile, we're right here to help.
We've just been the maid-matron of honour once within my living. Thankfully, clothing was not bad: a new lilac cocktail-length range with a gentle tulle underlay, it turned out pretty. To tell the truth, it turned out much better than some tips i acquired my inadequate basic wear at my cheap prom dresses this year crimson column dresses throughout satin that were less-than-flattering obviously, at the time I thought they were beautiful. Whenever we started talking about your fate of these once-worn clothes at style, we all made a decision to challenge yourself and also figure out how to give these types of expensive frocks another lifestyle.
Like wedding gowns, bridesmiad gowns are expensive. Sadly, these types of clothes often undergo the identical fate like a wedding dress: they are put on as soon as and then discarded. Really wise folks have commenced programs in which these types of barely-worn frocks can be generously donated to girls who need all of them. However, if you haven't gotten all around to giving your own dress and have the inkling of hope that maybe, just maybe, you may wear it again my partner and i swore to our ordinary that the cheap bridal dresses.
